in-between
a poem
it was
in-between
that he found it.
in-between
each heartbeat
each breath
in the dark
in-between
the stars,
each sigh
of the breeze
passing
in-between
the leaves
that stretched
to watch
the tableau below,
in-between
each tick
before the tock
where time froze
and each quark
stood still.
in-between
the lips of lovers
riding each
gasp of pleasure
through to
morning’s light
in-between
each mote
pirouetting through
the sun’s
waking rays.
there it was.
